Mark Greenberg, Ph.D.

          Dr. Greenberg holds The Bennett Endowed Chair in Prevention Research in Penn State's College of Health and Human Development and the Director of the Prevention Research Center for the Promotion of Human Development. Since 1981, Dr. Greenberg has been examining the effectiveness of school-based curricula (The PATHS Curriculum) to improve the social, emotional, and cognitive competence of elementary-aged children. Dr. Greenberg is a senior investigator on a number of prevention projects in Pennsylvania including Fast Track (NIMH-funded), PROSPER (NIDA funded), Communities That Care, and REACH (Kellogg Foundation). Dr. Greenberg consults with government agencies and foundations at the local, state, federal, and international level on topics related to child development and mental health promotion. He has published over 160 journal articles and book chapters. In 2002, he was awarded the Distinguished Research Scientist Award of the Society for Prevention Research.
